Editing the Data Catalog

Editing the Data Catalog

To begin editing the Data Catalog you will first need to navigate to the element you want to edit using the tree list on the left.

When you have navigated to the place for editing, just click “Edit” in the menu on the top right.

Be aware that “Edit”-access is given by the Engrafo-administrator. So, if you don’t have access, please contact your administrator. See User Administration for more information on managing users.

From here you will be able to edit all open fields that belong to the chosen element. Just click on the field you want to edit. In this example we want to edit the “Description” Field. Here, a text box where you can type formatted information will pop up. Note, that it is possible to have many different field types (e.g. one-line text, formatted text, unformatted text, checkmarks, images, etc.)

From the Data Catalog you will also be able to edit all elements directly under the chosen element and the fields associated with them. Here input is save automatically.

When editing elements you can link or copy information from another element using the “Plus”-icon or the “link”-icon to open the link-module. (The “link”-icon searches instantly for the column name across the data catalog.
