Editing the Engrafo Data Catalog

To navigate to the fields you need to dit you will use the Engrafo Data Catalog’s tree-structure on the left side.

The structure is Category → Database → Schema → Table → Column

In the picture below the Table “Cities” is clicked and on the right you get a box named “Table” and a list of the columns in the table.

In this example the template used for tables and columns only contains an field called “Description”. You can have many more fields witch can be defined under the “Config”-menu. In the “Config”-menu it is also possible to define if a field should be shown in the list or not.

When you have navigated to the place for editing, just click “Edit” in the menu on the top right.

Be aware that “Edit”-access is given by the Engrafo-administrator. So, if you don’t have access, please contact your administrator. See for more information on managing users.

On the page, you can edit all the open fields. Input is saved automatically.

When editing tables you can link or copy information from another column using the “Plus”-icon or the “Search”-icon to get the link-module. (The “Search”-icon searches instantly for the column name across the data catalog.

To edit information about the table in this view, click on “Description” in the Table-box. A new window will open and for this field you can type in formatted information. It’s possible to have many different field types (e.g. one-line text, formatted text, unformatted text, checkmarks, images, etc.)
